Government Ignores Preschoolers

Under the Anganwadi system in India, it was legislated that even pre-school children have a right to schooling. In Karnataka preschoolers find themselves attending “school” in any space the teacher might find. Often they are located in one child’s yard, or the patio of a larger house.

When I was a teenager, my parents threw me out of my house when I confronted them about my sexuality. I lived on the streets for some time before being taken in by hizra who made me part of their family. My main aim is to bring in light the problems of discrimination that the transgender community faces.
